San Antonio lost 128-112 to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, but rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama scored 20 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for his first career double-double.
Wembanyama became the youngest player in NBA history to post a 20-20 game with 21 points and 20 rebounds. At 19 years and 38 days old, he broke the mark previously held by Dwight Howard.
In his rookie season with the Orlando Magic, Howard also collected 21 points and 20 rebounds.
Only Wembanyama and Howard have achieved this feat as teenagers.
In the first half, Wembanyama had 10 points and 11 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season and first in a half.
On Nov. 12, 1992, Shaquille O’Neal was the last rookie with a 20/20 game that included four blocks.
