Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green lavished praise on San Antonio Spurs young star Victor Wembanyama after their first encounter, stating, “He could win MVP in two years. Until you see Victor Wembanyama in reality and especially share the same court with him, you can’t truly grasp how insane this phenomenon is.” This week, Green, who met Wembanyama for the first time, later discussed the San Antonio rookie’s impact on a podcast.

“Wembanyama is probably already one of the top 20 players in the NBA today,” Green claimed. “With his skills, length, and beautiful shooting under the San Antonio team… watch out for this kid.”

“I’m not underestimating Chet Holmgren for a second,” the veteran player added, referring to comparisons between the two. “I think Chet is a very good player, but there’s a gap between Wemby and him. Victor Wembanyama is just different. This kid is special, truly special. He could be winning MVP in a couple of years or so.”

The 20-year-old rookie leads the league in blocks with 197 total, ahead of Brook Lopez, who is in second place with 162. Wembanyama’s season averages at 20.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.4 blocks, and 1.3 steals, showcasing his significant impact and heralding a promising career ahead.
